About us
The exponentially growing
world population is strictly related to the increasing shortage of natural
resources. In our capitalist system, potential hardships and conflicts over
wealth distribution can only be avoided through economic growth and prosperity.
As factors of production, land, labour, energy and capital are gaining more and more significance. There
is a growing need for them to be utilised more effectively and efficiently on a
global scale, that is, in an intelligent way.
Taking into account the
depleting resources, sustainable economic growth is only possible through
effective innovations in all areas (such as climate, agriculture, technology,
energy, logistics, manufacturing, communications, education) and with a
reasonable ethical, ecological and economic approach. Innovation is thus the single
most effective way to economic growth.
However, the life
cycle of products and thus the lifespan of innovations are shortened by the
rapid growth of progress and imitative competition. As a result, there is a
continuous pressure to innovate in all possible areas of businesses such as markets,
products, technologies, methods and procedures, structures and processes. Innovation activity and innovation capacity
are therefore key factors for the survival of companies in the ongoing competition,
and they also guarantee sustainable social prosperity.
Effective and
meaningful innovations can only be achieved by competent individuals and their
cooperation. Cooperation within and beyond corporate boundaries (i.e. customers,
partners and suppliers) is becoming more and more international, and most often
it takes place virtually on a global scale. Team members often come from
various countries and belong to completely different cultures. These diversely
engaged teams often create their own, culturally distinct innovations, which are
then exported to other countries with different cultures.
The overall educational system on the globe is
facing the challenge of making and keeping people fit for the emerging
knowledge community, which does not only involve a particular intellectual
elite or individuals at a young age, but
it expands to the global population on the whole! This process does not simply
mean the conveyance and accumulation of inert knowledge, but rather the
provision of a framework in which competencies can be developed. In a time of
rapidly increasing changes, it is through competence alone that people can
become capable of active and self-determined participation in public life.
Fair
access to education for everyone and a paradigm shift from qualifications to
competence building – these are the most important requirements to respond to
by means of innovative educational concepts worldwide. These constitute a
social duty and an obligation that every one of us can actively contribute to!
This is also the purpose for which the KOMUNIKI PROJECT was established.
About the KOMUNIKI PROJECT:
Knowledge Cloud Capacity Building
In collaboration with
leading academic scholars, KOMUNIKI developed the concept of a Web 2.0-based
learning system: the Social Web Academy.
The specially adapted Web 2.0 functions, combined with competence building training
courses, enable the formation of online intercultural learning groups
worldwide, and support the overall effects and learning processes necessary for
competence building. For the first time ever, this innovative learning system
allows competence development and knowledge transfer free of time and space
restrictions in a largely online-based environment, the Social Web Academy. Participants’ individual learning speed and
style are also taken into account, which enhances learning efficiency. This is
a revolutionary concept: the Social Web
Academy becomes a wordlwide centralised, holistic organisational and
communicational platform for broad knowledge transfer that
enables ongoing training and competence development.
As a non-profit organisation, KOMUNIKI pursues purely academic goals: the KOMUNIKI PROJECT aims to allow people
around the globe access to world-class education – and at affordable fees for
everyone.
Our training courses and online services are designed
to help our members communicate more successfully in their respective cultural
environments and resolve their international / intercultural tasks or conflicts
more easily. The costs of implementing and operating the global Social Web Academy amount to several
millions of euros. These are enormous sums of money that cannot and should not
even be provided by one investor only!
How This Should Function? The Idea is Simple:
- The enormous costs, such as for the further
development of the online portal and its new online training courses, are to be
funded entirely by sponsors and through crowd financing. Training course
moderation is mainly performed by voluntary online tutors from international
universities.
- We
offer our members highest quality training and many other benefits in
exchange for a small membership fee, which is even less than the
price of a single reference book! The fees collected from our numerous
members make it possible for every one of them to have lifelong access to these
benefits.
- The
entire revenue will be invested in the KOMUNIKI PROJECT. KOMUNIKI is a
non-profit organisation. It has no investors, nor is there a distribution of
profits. The KOMUNIKI PROJECT belongs entirely to its members!
- Our sponsors are our members and companies that are actively involved and, to the best of their possibilities, take their share of (corporate) social responsibility and shape KOMUNIKI.
What Will Happen Next?
For the completion and
launch of the platform and its first basic training courses two million euros are
needed. The search for sponsors was already started on 29 April 2012. We
welcome every single donation as it brings us closer to our goals.
As a registered
non-profit organisation, KOMUNIKI is exempted from corporation and trade tax. Membership fees and donations are fully tax
deductible as special expenses. KOMUNIKI is authorised to issue donation
receipts for membership fees and donations by means of officially prescribed
forms (§ 50 par.1 of the Income Tax Implementation Regulations).
KOMUNIKI is
a start-up company. The non-profit KOMUNIKI Foundation GUG was founded in March
2012 and has its headquarters in Aachen, Germany.
KOMUNIKI is supported by active members and businesses
of our society, that is, by individuals who are procative within their
capabilities, recognize the importance of their social responsibility, and
shape KOMUNIKI. We call this mutual
corporate social responsibility.
Become an active
member yourself! Shape KOMUNIKI with us and help us provide excellent education
for as many people as possible wordlwide .
